I firmly believe that until the world takes notice of the wisdom and teachings of the indigenous people, the humans and all systems connected to humanity face terrible disaster and decline. It has already begun to happen.  The indigenous people have managed to survive, despite few numbers and often facing great tragedy and oppression.  For Japan, that means that we Japanese (I include myself, a Celtic Japanese citizen) must recognize Ainu rights, and beliefs.  Their long and loving systems of equality and harmony with nature must be learned, respected, and wherever possible, implemented. How else can we bring fish back to our rivers, wild and beautiful forests and creatures back to our mountains?  Where else can we find hope for the future?
